Who’s behind the tools at HURST Jaws of Life? It’s skilled machinists like Jeff Brown. With 20 years of experience under his belt, Jeff knows his way around a manufacturing facility. He joined HURST a few months ago and says working here is what finally made him feel like he’s doing something that really matters.

“I wanted to make something meaningful,” Jeff said. The welcoming work environment at HURST Jaws of Life is a bonus, says Jeff. He describes the Shelby, North Carolina, plant as intimate and friendly.

“HURST has always had a great reputation,” he said. “It’s a good place. They still take care of their employees; that’s changed in most places, but not here.”

HURST Jaws of Life has been headquartered in Shelby since 1984, and its team takes pride in making the best rescue tools for the first responder industry – and the only rescue tool that bears the Jaws of Life name.

“Everyone knows the Jaws of Life name,” says Jeff.

When he’s not manufacturing rescue tool parts, Jeff can be found outdoors often fishing or exploring. If you love the mountain landscape of the Carolinas like Jeff does, ask him for his must-see list of sights – Devil’s Courthouse, Bald Rock, Craggy Gardens.

When his travels lead him back to work, Jeff’s back at it, making something meaningful – and not just meaningful for him, but meaningful for the thousands of lives saved each year. Thanks, Jeff, we’re glad you’re on the team.
