The new HURST Jaws of Life 5,000 psi KL-32 Defender spreader features a 32.5 inch spreading distance with a maximum spreading force of up to 25,592 lbs. and an ultimate pulling force of up to 7,760 lbs.

The KL-32 Defender features a dead man control valve that reverts back to the neutral position if a rescuer’s hand slips from the control and a dual pilot check valve which sustains necessary load requirements if the flow of hydraulic fluid is interrupted. With the use of a SV power unit, the KL-32 Defender features a maximum opening speed of 10 seconds and closing speed of 8 seconds.

The HURST Jaws of Life Defender series of spreaders includes the 5,000 psi ML-28 Defender. The ML-28 Defender features a spreading distance of 28 inches, a maximum spreading force of 44,000 lbs. and a maximum pulling force of 6,969 lbs., and weighs only 49 lbs.
